Data is at gross sales (GMV) level across e-tail channels
For Net Sales and expected payment, please refer to the month end reports provided by Repro (generated based on channel reports)
The difference between Gross Sales & Net Sales can be attributed to returns & cancellations (Repro receives 0 revenue in this case, hence pub comp is 0):
Returns:
Approximately 80% of all returns are RTO (channel logistics issues such as undeliverable pin codes, etc.) and 20% are Customer returns
Marketplaces such as Flipkart & Amazon routinely delay the delivery of some return parcels to the seller warehouses by as much as 8 months
Marketplaces also misplace some parcels due to issues at their hubs (labels getting faded, mismanagement of inventory, etc.)
Repro as the largest seller of books in India on marketplaces is more effective in constantly pushing the channels to reconcile these gaps
Repro ONLY reuses the return POD stock if and when an order is placed for the same title, at which point the pub comp is paid once that order is ship complete, otherwise returns are scrapped based on aging.
Cancellations:
Flipkart allows for the cancellation of orders post printing as we are POD, these books go into our inventory and are treated the same as returns.
